Conditions - Other Conditions
Overview: Learn about Other Conditions in the Conditions tab on Page and how they give you visibility into the full range of conditions a veteran may have.
What Are Other Conditions?
- Other Conditions shows all conditions mentioned in the file that are not part of the claimed conditions. These represent the long tail of conditions a veteran has, some of which may be claimable as secondary conditions or should have been proactively granted by the VA.
Sorting
- Other Conditions are sorted with conditions found in STRs first, followed by conditions found in post-service medical records like government facility treatment records or CAPRIs.
Managing Other Conditions
- Sometimes an Other Condition may actually be associated with a claimed condition. In those cases, you can:
- Merge it with an existing claimed condition
- Add individual pieces of evidence into whatever condition you want, which is useful when there is a lot of evidence across conditions
Why This Matters
- Other Conditions give you broad visibility into all conditions the veteran may have had over the course of their service, helping you identify potential secondary claims or evidence that may have been overlooked.
