Additional functionality - Files needing attention
Overview: Learn how to handle files on Page that are flagged for recategorization or are unreadable.
Files Needing Recategorization
- Occasionally, you may come across uploaded files that are flagged by Page as needing attention. These are rarely from the C-file — they usually appear when you upload an external document.
- When this happens, the file type box will be labeled as yellow.
- Page may ask you to recategorize the file by telling it which file type to treat it as. This matters because Page's AI extracts information differently depending on the file type.
- You may also be asked to update the received date if the file doesn't come from the C-file.
Unreadable Files
- In some cases, a file may be marked as unreadable. This is a problem that comes from the VA specifically — on rare occasion, files downloaded via eFolder Express can be corrupted, meaning you can't open them on your local desktop. Page also cannot read them.
- The recommended resolution is to:
- Go into VBMS
- Download the individual corrupted file separately
- Upload it to Page
- Recategorize it
- This is a workaround, but it is the only working solution given that the VA's system causes this error and has not fixed it.
